Christmas is supposed to be a time of Comfort and Joy. But, when we can feel overwhelmed by full calendars, weighty expectations, strained relationships, and false sources of hope, it can be easy to wonder where the comfort and joy of the Christmas season can be found. For many of us, these expectations can keep us from seeing the comfort and joy that comes from anticipation and expectation of what is to come - the true miracle of the Christmas season - the comfort and joy that can be experienced in the story of Jesus.
Anticipation should be more than just a calendar we mark off. It should be a journey to comfort and joy. During this holiday season, we invite you to bring friends and family and join us at Hughson United Methodist as we slow down, breathe, and rediscover what comfort and joy feel like.
This study allows anyone to intentionally engage with the themes of Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy from a Christian perspective. Dinner is served following the class.
